Return to Wonderland
I have been away for a while and to my loyal Blogger community I say, "Sorry". Here it is almost Christmas time again. The time of year that we spend to much money because we feel pressured into it by the capitalistic society that we live in. The commericals show us that in order to express our true feeling of love for someone we have to spend insane amounts of money purchasing there product. So this year my goal is not to be a scrooge. I am throwing Mikes first annual Christmas party. A time of drink, food and celibration. A time of fellowship and interaction. A time where love can be shown in the giving of ones time. And I hope one of fond memories. I plan to take pictures and then post them next year. And to create a scrap book of Mikes Christmas Parties. I promise to BLOG about this after the big event on Thursday, December 16th from 6:00-10:00pm at Country Club Appartments Community Room. Open invitation to my local bloggers.

Its also hard to believe that this is the second year as a single man. This year I do not even have a girl friend to spend it with. But there is still two weeks before Christmas so anything is possible.

The new house is starting to take shape. My hopes and dreams is to have Mikes Christmas Party #2 at the new house. But there is a mountain of tasks and obsticals to overcome and we will just have to wait and see.

WEST VIRGINIA DEATH SPIRAL

Before I get into this post a bit of my background.  I was born in Huntington West Virginia in 1952 and have lived in the state most of my entire life.  As a youth my father was an insurance salesman and my mother worked at Owens Illinois Glass Plant.  I remember that out family was close net and our neighbors watched out after each other.  It was a time of the nuclear family. A Peyton Place type of community where Sundays was time to attend church and then the strong sent of charcoal burring in the air as everyone seemed to be grilling out at the same time.  A time when families set down to dinner together at a set time and then retired to the living room to watch the Wonderful World of Disney on TV.  A typical middle working class family. Somewhere along the way things started to change. I remember Owens Illinois closing.  Then ACF "American Car and Foundry" closed.  Then the C&O shops closed.  The jobs were leaving and there was not a lot coming along to replace them

STIRRING THE POT

Now I am all about efficiency and the reduction of government waist.  But radical over the top changes is like asking a blind person to help you touch up your makeup.  Donald Trump is suggesting the combining, or even privatizing some of the executive branch offices.  First lets look at the list of executive offices.
